Many of you may be feeling business pressure, financial concerns, and out right fear of what 2011 and beyond holds. I don’ t know a single person that is not feeling taxed on every level: personally, professionally, monetarily – you name it. Remember, I do this for a living – so I hear alot from alot of people.
There are many support systems we rely on: our faith and spiritual beliefs, expert advice and coaching from others, past experiences, benchmarks of others who have weathered and come through similar circumstances, historical comeback stories, and simply leaning on friends and families for morale encouragement.
At the end of the day, however, we go it alone. We have to power through using all our stamina, resiliency, perservance, tenacity, and chutspah. This is what separates the wheat from chaffe. And just to be clear, ‘ powering through’ may mean changing directions, partners, approaches, companies, jobs, and even industries – depending on where we are and where we determine we want to go. That is ok and expected – we are on a continum.
On this hump day, as we enter the second quarter of 2011, we need to pull ourselves up by our boot straps – and power through. This is life. Be in it.
